Reflecting on a great evening at Ad-Hoc Economics
A brief summary of our HOT TOPIC of 20/10/2025
Andés Gallardo
Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Martin Kolmar, Director of the Institute for Business Ethics at the University of St. Gallen, for our latest HOT TOPICS event.
Prof. Kolmar delivered a thought-provoking talk on “Rethinking Normative Economics: Challenging the Homo Oeconomicus Model and Liberalism.” His lecture sparked a lively discussion on how insights from behavioral and developmental research are reshaping our understanding of rationality, well-being, and the foundations of liberal thought.
A big thank you to Prof. Kolmar for sharing his time and ideas, to the School of Economics and Political Science and SQUARE for their support, and to everyone who joined us and contributed to the discussion.
After the talk, participants enjoyed a warm apéro and continued the conversation in an informal setting, creating the perfect conclusion to an inspiring evening.
Stay tuned for our next HOT TOPICS event and follow Ad-Hoc Economics for more opportunities to explore cutting-edge ideas in economics and beyond.
